Who Wants to Tango? Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Art Exhibition Opens at The Stanley Marketplace

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Art Exhibition Opens at Stanley

Leave it to the folks at Stanley to bring a totally outside the box art exhibit to Denver!  Along with great food, drinks and eco conscience shopping, The Stanley Marketplace provides a number of immersive and creative arts experiences throughout the year. This month and next, Stanley is showcasing Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel art exhibition in the 10,000 square foot event space known as The Hangar at Stanley.

This is the first time we’ve turned The Hangar into a lengthy art-focused exhibition, so we wanted to be as creative as possible when thinking about how to program the space,

said Mark Shaker, co-developer of Stanley Marketplace.

Fun Activities: Holy Yoga, Art Lectures, Tango Dancing, Gypsy Jazz, Opera and Italian Cooking

The creative team at Stanley has planned a plethora of creative arts programming centered around The Sistine Chapel exhibit.  Special activities include: an Italian disco party, yoga underneath the frescoes and a lecture series for children and adults.  Also planned are hands on painting events, an Italian cooking class and a variety of music and dance collaborations.

You can get tickets for the exhibition and for the special events online through Etix by clicking here.

You might ask, how the heck can the world’s greatest artistic achievements, Michelangelo’s renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, make their way to Denver, Colorado?  The exhibit is a collection of magnificently reproduced images in near original size. The exhibition allows viewers a face to face encounter with masterpieces like The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel is a licensed exhibition of SEE Global Entertainment, a Las Vegas-based exhibition production company which acquired the worldwide rights to the fresco reproductions by Bridgeman Images. The Colorado debut of the Sistine Chapel exhibit is presented in association with Beverly Hills-based Daniel Sladek Entertainment.

Shout out to my friend Daniel Sladek who lives in Los Angeles but happens to be from DENVER.  Talented Daniel Sladek is a graduate of Denver’s Thomas Jefferson High School and the University of Colorado.
