DCPA Announces The New 2018/19 Broadway Season Line Up For Denver Theater Goers and It’s Good – Real Good!

March in Denver is all about Hamilton!  But looking past Hamilton, if that is even possible, Denver I Love is happy to bring you the latest news from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) on the next season’s show line up that runs Fall 2018 through Summer 2019.

Denver continues to be a favorite destination for Broadway launches and national tours.  So, Hamilton or no Hamilton, the 2018/2019 season is packed with some of the most phenomenal Broadway shows ever!

For starters, the season will kick off with the national tour launch of Dear Evan Hansen at the Buell Theatre September 25th through October 13th, 2018.   Dear Evan Hansen is the winner of six 2017 Tony Awards Including Best Musical and the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Dear Evan Hansen is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it. The musical features a book by Tony Award winner Steven Levenson, a score by Grammy, Tony and Academy Award® winners (AND UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, SCHOOL OF MUSIC, THEATRE AND DANCE ALUMS) Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La LandThe Greatest Showman). GO BLUE!  Dear Evan Hansen director Michael Greif (RentNext to Normal) is a four-time Tony Award nominee. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The musical revival of Hello Dolly is also on the marquee for next season at the DCPA, March 27 to April 7, 2019, and will star Broadway legend Betty Buckley!  Wow!

Playbills from my Broadway collection – can’t wait to add the DCPA’s Applause editions for these great shows coming to Denver next season!

It seriously just keeps getting better from there. Denver is also getting the first national tours of Come from Away (November 13 -25, 2018), A Bronx Tale (June 8-20, 2019), The Play That Goes Wrong (March 5-17, 2019),  Raold Dahl’s The Chocolate Factory (July 9-28, 2019) and Anastasia (August 7-18, 2019).

Other shows DCPA has announced for the 2018/19 Season include favorites like Xanadu (November 3 to March 31), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (December 5 to 15), Rock of Ages (January 25-27), Cats (April 24-28, 2019), Wicked (March 8 to June 9, 2019) and Fiddler on the Roof (June 11-16, 2019).

Last year the season subscriptions sold out, so you might not want to wait to renew for your new season subscription.  There are also a limited number of new subscriptions available.  With all the top shows coming to Denver, season tickets to the DCPA, are becoming a hot commodity!

New subscriptions start as low as eight payments of $55.13. Reservations for the limited number of new subscriptions are available starting today, February 26, at 10 a.m. at denvercenter.org. Renewing subscribers, followed by members of the waitlist, will receive priority seating. Some restrictions apply. A public on-sale will be announced at a later date.
